4,500sf Life through Time
Experience Life through Time, a unique combination of the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. Transcend temporal boundaries to walk with non-mammalian synapsids (“mammal-like reptiles”), dinosaurs, and prehistoric mammals.
Encounter large, terrestrial apex predators from periods in the three eras: a sail-backed Dimetrodon hunting prey in the Permian, a bipedal Tyrannosaurus rex prowling in the Cretaceous, and a fanged Smilodon (saber-toothed cat) attacking a Megatherium (sloth) in the Quaternary. Hear a Maiasaura roar in joy as its eggs hatch, while a Smilodon family frolics in the snow. Watch a coastal Pteranodon soar over a dome-headed Pachycephalosaurus, before coming face to face with a massive mammoth built to withstand the cold. Roam the North American wetlands with a long-necked Apatosaurus, and then wallow in the mud with the largest land mammal to have ever lived, a Baluchitherium.
Operate an animatronic T. rex using a remote control. Discover fossils while digging through the sand, and uncover fossils by rubbing crayons on paper-covered templates. Smell the scents of dinosaurs, and touch the tooth of a Smilodon. Take a photograph riding a Triceratops or inside the deadly jaws of a T. rex.
